If you want powerful prayers to speak over yourself and your family, the books of Ephesians and 1 Corinthians are a fantastic place to start!

Prayer can look innumerable different ways, depending on the moment, the season, the circumstances, and the person praying. Prayer can be worship, quiet time talking to God, reading bible verses out loud, talking fervently over a situation, laughing, crying, and praying with a group or alone, to name a few.
One habit I come back to regularly is praying the powerful prayers from Ephesians chapters 1 and 3. I read through them, often changing from “you” to “us” as I pray it over my family. Sometimes I sit on a phrase for a while, repeating it, praising God for it, digging deeper into it, meditating on it. Sometimes I have a specific person in mind. Sometimes I simply read through, standing in faith for His word to move in my life. I went through a season a few years ago where I printed them off and posted them next to my bed to read when I woke up and laid down.
Below I’m sharing a personalized prayer based on Ephesians 1:17-23 and 3:14-21 and I Corinthians 13:4-8 and 14:1, from the Amplified Bible. Feel free to speak “I” instead of “us” to make it personal to you. The below version is great for praying over your family.
May these words bless you as much as they have me!

Powerful Prayers
Ephesians 1:17-23 and 3:14-21 and I Corinthians 13:4-8 and 14:1
Heavenly Father, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, we always pray to You that You grant us a spirit of wisdom and revelation of insights into mysteries and secrets in the deep and intimate knowledge of Jesus.
Father, we thank You that the eyes of our hearts are flooded with Your light so that we can know and understand the hope to which You have called us.
Father, we thank You that we know how rich is Your glorious inheritance in the saints, Your set apart ones. We also thank You that we know and understand what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of Jesus’ power in and for us as believers as You demonstrated in the working of Your mighty strength, which You exerted in Christ when You raised Him from the dead and seated Him at Your own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.
And You have put all things under His feet and You have appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church, which is His Body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all. For in that body lives the full measure of Jesus Who makes everything complete and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself. Father, we thank You that we are a part of that body.
We also bow our knees before You Father, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for whom every family in
heaven and on earth is named and we thank You that You grant us out of the rich treasury of Your glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in our inner man because the Holy Spirit Himself indwells our innermost beings and personalities. We thank You, Father that Christ through our faith, actually dwells and makes His permanent home in our hearts. We thank You Father that we are rooted deep in love and founded securely on love and that we have the power and the strength to apprehend and grasp with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth of that love.
And Father, this love endures long and is patient and kind. This love is never envious nor boils over with jealousy; it is not boastful or vainglorious and it does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited, arrogant or inflated with pride; it is not rude [unmannerly], and does not act unbecomingly. Your love in us does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful. It takes no account of the evil done to it, pays no attention to a suffered wrong. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but it rejoices when right and truth prevail.
This love bears up under anything and everything that comes and is ever ready to believe the best of every person. Its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances and it endures everything without weakening. This love never fails, never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end. Father, we eagerly pursue and seek to acquire this love and make it our aim, our great quest.
We thank You that we know through experience the love of Christ which surpasses mere knowledge and that we are filled through all our beings unto all the fullness of You, Father, and have the richest measure of Your divine Presence and that we are part of a body wholly filled and flooded with YOU!!!!
Now Father, to You, Who by the action of Your power that is at work within us is able to carry out Your purpose and do superabundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think, infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes or dreams, To You be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. In Jesus Name we pray these things.
Amen
Have a blessed and sunshiny day!
